They do an incredible job at an extremely reasonable price, but it would be nice if I could do some as well.
The problem is my present local printing company takes two weeks even for a rush job. That might mean quite a few print jobs for a couple of days for an event, then nothing for two or three weeks. I was just hoping for a way to do one-off or smaller jobs when I'm at the studio.
#Hp printer how to use photo paper plus
Yes, that's my main concern plus the cost every time in ink to clean the nozzles and charge them. However, if idle for a week or two it will take attention and ink to get a clean nozzle check. My first 4900 had some big issues that are well known throughout the Epson complaint threads. I would seriously consider other printers of equal or better quality with a better track record. While I love the output of my 4900 I could not recommend it. The company who does all my printing now uses an Epson 9900 and I love the output, especially on Hahnemuhle cotton rag. Do you ever have issues with the nozzles stopping up? That's my major worry. The use of appropriate printer settings and profiles is extremely important. Using the right paper for a particular print is very important and one does not have to worry about matching brands of printers and papers as long as you are in the "inkjet" realm for inkjet printers. Each manufacturer other than Epson has one or more paper in their line that is very unique. I use the following papers: Canson, Epson, Red River, Breathing Color and Hahnemuhle. I've always been led to believe that the best results are by matching the ink to the paper though no doubt some of this is "manufacturer led".
